Hey, ChaCha is so cheap, my aunt even suggested that they're just on their way to shipping all the jobs to India, where they'll accept like 1ยข per guide to answer questions about who has the largest boobs in the world I guess. I actually don't think this is the kind of thing that Indians could do, though, I mean they can learn everything about electronics that an American can, and pretty much their only downside when being hired as tech support for Americans is their often thick accent, but being a ChaCha guide kind of requires an intimate understanding of American culture. If it were flipped around, with Americans answering questions for Indians, we would have opinion questions like "Who do you think is the prettiest Bollywood actress?", "Who do you think will win the big cricket game, India or Sri Lanka?", or "My mother just died, will she really be reincarnated into a butterfly?". I can think of all sorts of ways in which Americans would answer those questions. I'll admit, Indians are probably less retarded about global cultures than Americans are, but still. For the record, ChaCha is not planning on outsourcing...yet. Tags: angst Current Mood: worried

Do you remember ChaCha, the site I said I was contributing to earlier? I've been having fun with it, but they are having a policy change! Now, despite their stating that ChaCha "fits any lifestyle", they will be penalizing people who don't contribute 350 questions a week (or 50 questions per day) by cutting their pay in half. Of course, rather than admitting to giving penalties, they are turning it around by saying that they're "rewarding" people who do enough questions per week by giving them normal pay! How nice of you, ChaCha! Does it matter, though? Because this is more about helping people and learning new things than money. As karriekeeper on the ChaCha forums points out nicely: "No matter what happens, if I continue, or if I leave, I will never lose the wealth of knowledge that I have gained since working for ChaCha. I now know the name of the man who has the largest penis in the world. I can impress my friends with the knowledge that the African Bull Elephant has on average a 6.5 ft long penis, and the largest one, for that matter, in the animal kingdom. I will also know an "average size" penis when I see one. Above all else I'll know how to use that penis in exactly 52 new positions that I had no idea existed or that they actually had names. Thanks to my introduction to the Urban Dictionary I now know what a "poltergeist" is, it has nothing to do with ghosts. Lastly, I've been introduced to the notion that there are video's circling the internet that depict such horrors I'm embarrassed and sickened to name them. Thank you ChaCha for all that you have given me. Should I ever find myself a contestant on Jeopardy for Perverts you can guarantee, I will be fully prepared. I am still here, promise! Just very very distracted. You know where you have so much to do/think about that all you end up doing is thinking not knowing where to start and end up not getting much of anything done including sleep and get further behind then you keep thinking about *that*? Yeah. That's about where I am. I'm way behind on any non-Blue Gorgon related e-mails and projects. Sorry! :P I have managed to get very addicted to my lil steampunk Orc huntress/engineer/carnie Exo though. She is funny, sexy, and all in all a blast to play and work on. I feel bad that my guild and other alts are being neglected, but she is a happy guilty pleasure. I made an icon using the gear she *wishes* she had. Another guilty pleasure is Metalocalypse. My brother got me into it, and even though it can be so grotesquely violent that I have to cringe away and just not look at times, I love the characters so much that I can't keep from following it. Chewie and I plan to make some icons of the clueless band members. <3 Skwisgaar and Toki inparticular, but all of Dethklok are hilarious. I'm very curious about their pasts, what's going to happen, etc and so on... very clever and demented stuff. I'm kind of ashamed of enjoying it, but I'm admitting it here anyway. :P Also, it is brutally metal. I'm also digging Ghost Hunters International. Also, there is a bird. A strange noisy bird outside we can't identify. We've seen a lot of magpies and crows around town, but have only heard this noise across from Mom's place. We thought maybe it was a hookbill, but not so sure about that either... unless somebody locked their parrot in a room with the movie Mars Attacks and a duck then placed it next to an open window 24/7. For now, we've dubbed it Monkey-Bird. Here's an artist's sketch of what it may look like. It remains a mystery.. especially as it will shriek long after the sun has set too. And it doesn't seem to move. Chewie thinks a neighbor has a pet penguin... a very angry penguin. Tags: blue gorgon, critters, gaming, tv Current Mood: weird

It only got up to 94 today, we're having a cold snap!
Well, Sunday went well, if I had the energy I'd upload a couple of pics, but I'm just too tired. What I finally did with my cousin was call her and tell her the details and told her to absolutely not tell her brother, so it was fun. It was hotter than a mutha, and everyone was all sweaty, but my uncle has a really nice shaded yard and there was a breeze, so it was bareable. Also, the sprinkler helped, and while the kids spent most of the time running through it, you noticed that most of the adults conspicuously had water spots on their shirts. We all did scrapbook pages for my gradma, and she absolutely loved it.
They recently switched programs at work that tracks loans and is basically the database, but we're like a month behind in processing the "work in progress" que, so they authorized overtime today for the rest of the month, so I'm going to work an extra 5 hours a week or so as long as they will let me, it's better than trying to find a part-time job (probably only paying about $10/hour) before Labor Day when I have absolutely no weekends available. After Labor Day, and after we are caught up and they say no more over time, I wll be finding another part-time job, because I really want to get my credit cards paid off, pay for our cruise next summer, and maybe even get some money into savings (dare I dream?)
I had a nice long chat with Jeny (Rhodeo from the LK board), apparently there are some people on the new LK board that are accusing me and her, as well as a few others of being a "clique" back in the day, to which my response naturally is, "yeah, and???" Naturally, Jeny and I sat and talked for two hours about the people we don't like and how they piss us off (of course, not anyone on this board, because I LUUUUV ALL Y'ALL!)
Very tired, must get to sleep, have to work those extra hours tomorrow... Current Mood: sleepy

"We are the Cult of the Golden Orb. Our master teaches us that every Tuesday at 2:30 PM eastern-standard time, we are to hold a medium-sized red-hot chili pepper between our buttocks for 19 hours as we repeat the sacred mantra 'giddy-up horsey' fifty-one times. Then, per our instructions, we put on our sandpaper pants and enter the plastic punishment room where we ask each other the holy question: 'Are you the lemon?' 'no.' 'Are you the lemon?' 'no.' 'are you the lemon?' 'no.' This can go on for weeks or months. Finally, someone says 'I think I am the lemon.' They are slapped across the face, stripped naked, and fitted with the 'sacred diaper' made of pudding skins and duct tape. They put on wax lips and hum the theme to Hawaii 5-0 forty-seven times. Then, they straddle a chicken, a small chimpanzee is attached to their backs, and they are fitted in a harness, and hoisted 100 feet in the air above a giant vat of lukewarm chocolate pudding. They are slowly lowered in as the other church members join hands and repeat the sacred prayer: 'Squatting monkeys tell no lies.'"Dana Carvey - Squatting Monkeys Tell No LiesTags: positive moods Current Mood: amused

Well, important for me that is. I'm trying to decide if I really want to go through my senior year of highschool or move onto the "next big thing." I woke up early to take the TABE today, basically a pretest for a GED and scored perfectly across the board, and my SAT scores basically ensure me that I won't have to take any high school level prerequisits if I go onto college. At this point, I've reached the area of "Why not?" But yeah, basically, I need to hammer out exactly what I'm doing within the next couple weeks, before the next school year starts up again.
Also, in other big events, I sold off quite a few of my shares in a mutual fund on Monday, at a net loss, but oh well, it buys me a ticket to Canada <3 I'm getting the ticket today, and yeah, been spending between 4 and 8 hours on the phone with Miranda a night ^^
Last night, I finished "Collapse" by Jared Diamond... now onto the four or five other books I have sitting on my dresser. Next up it's either "The Audacity of Hope" by Barak Obama or "The Assault on Reason" by Al Gore. Also, somewhere in the list of things to read is "The Post American World" but... yeah, gotta find out where I've got the focus for such things xD I'm probably not gonna bother with a blog book review, as few have the attention to read it, and I don't have the energy to bother.

I've made a post on a budgie forum, on Youtube and on Deviant about taking commissions. Yeah I hated to reopen Deviant and it probably won't be of any help. It wasn't last time but I really need some money. Since cute things seem to sell so well I drew up a budgie template that I can color to look like anyone's pet budgie. They are $20US. Here is a sample. It's a rush job and of course I'll do a much better and larger version for a real commission. So if you guys know anyone that might be interested in a custom budgie please tell them about me. I finally rented Alantis 2 and I'm glad I did. As far as Disney sequels direct to DVD go, this wasn't so bad...but it still sucked. At least I didn't get mad. I mostly got bored, rolled my eyes a lot and criticized the art. I'll give a bit of a review. First off I hated that they didn't keep the characters IN CHARACTER. Kida the former princess is now Queen. I loved what a strong and confident female she was in the original. Now she was sad, depressed and second guessing herself about having reopened the crystals? WHAT THE? How can one be a ruler and be indecisive? That sucked. Milo somehow found loads of confidence and Strength? A big guy jumped him and he was on his back. Then Milo was able to kick him off of him with no help from his friends. WTF? Why were those two roles reversed? And Mole? Since when did mole become an extrovert? He was in your face making jokes and being friendly. NOOOO!!!!! The rest were just taking up space. There was even one scene where the Russian explosives guy disappeared. WHY? I guess they just couldn't find anything for him to do which wouldn't have been hard since they were all tied up and not doing anything anyway!!! AAARRGG!! So that's just the character screw ups. The "plot" if you can even call it that seems to have purposely writen by a bunch of ADD animators. The premise started great. There was a Kraken (giant squid) that went around eating ships. They thought it may have been an Atlantean weapon like another Leviathan. But it turned out it wasn't and what was played up to be a powerful monster was defeated with a few torpedos. Eh. Now if *I* had been in charge I would have made it the guardian of another powerful lost culture. Perhaps the secret powers of the Egyptians. It would have been so formidable that Kida would have had to summon the aid of the Leviathan (of which he was the most awesome thing from the first movie) and it would have been a battle of Leviathan vs. Kraken. You guys know I love bad guys but in this case I think I'd have let Leviathan take the win, but not after taking serious damage and probably destroying half of Atlantis and 70% of the surface world. Thrust the whole human cast completely aside. Monsters are cooler than humans. But no it wasn't like that. Then they went out West which was a total waste of time. That's when they got tied up. Then once that was over they went North because what a coincidence it just happened that Witmore had Odin's Spear of Destiny stolen from his house by an Odin wannabe. Oh and conveniently the spear was originally Atlantean. Of course they had to add the cutesy character which was a baby lava whale with feet. Now it started cool. Kida was on a flying ship over lava and the whales were swimming through the lava. These were concepts that were not used in the original and the whales would have been evil. I would have loved to have known more about this species but instead they just had him there as a dog and friend to Mole. Hey it ate rocks so they had to be friends. In the battle with Odin, the wolf Fenris (they never said his name but I know some Norse mythology) kicked the little whale into a lava pit where a fire monster was coming out of. Everyone gasped thinking the little guy had died forgetting that earlier he'd been sleeping in the fireplace. Then he popped out fine. SIGH!! I would have handled the scene by having the whale fall in, not come out for a long time and reason for everyone to think he was dead. Fire monster is about to kill everyone when suddenly the whole pod of fire whales emerges and kills the monster and defeats Odin THE END. Much cooler. I have GOt to get my story out. So few people can write cool things like that. Oh and after some soul searching Kida decided to go against her father's wishes and raise Atlantis for the world to see. The film did have its moments but not worth buying. Seemed like an experiment to see if this would make a good afternoon cartoon and even Disney saw it would not and left it at that. Oh and I've figured out finally what I don't like about afternoon cartoons and why they don't look like the movies. They are colored in flat colors. No shading. The only time there is shading is if something special happens like a zap or magic floating around. Have you ever wondered why keyboards aren't in alphabetical order? I thought that instead of being in alphabetical order they should put the most used letters in the home row. Well I looked it up and found I'm partially right. Back in the days of typewriters the keys WERE in alphabetical order, but secretaries got too fast at typing and the keys would jam beyond repair. So they mixed up the letters randomly to slow them down. That is the keyboard we use now called the QWERTY keyboard. Named after the first six letters in the top row. BUT there is a keyboard called the Dvorak keyboard that uses my idea of placing the most used letters in the home row. BRILLAINT!! Of course because it's logical and practical it's not in production. The world does not follow logic as it should. Here is a picture of the two keyboards. Lastly I had a very INTJ moment today. Chris and I were talking about English and what things about English are hard for foreginers let alone for us too. I came up with several examples of words that have such subtle intonations that unless you're a native speaker you won't hear them or be able to pronounce them right. When strung together it's difficult even for a native speaker. For example Two, To and Too. Two is actually prounounce differently from To and Too which sound quite similar. Another hard one is OF and OFF. OF kind of goes up while OFF is pronounce quickly and more monotone. Now those aren't the fun ones. Get a load of this. How about: Beard, Beer, Bear, Bare and Bird? Say them all now out loud and laugh and don't repeate any: Bear, Beer, Bird, Bare, Beard! HAHAHA. Now try: Ship, Sheep, Sheet and Shit. Sheep, Ship, Shit, Sheet!! Or what about: Uncle, Ankle, Angle, Angel? Angel, Uncle, Ankle, Angle! All these are just off the top of my head. What fun and what laughs I've had today. I think this should be the next thing I should talk about for an INTJ speech on youtube. Now you see, why would we want to have small talk and hear about the stupid weather or how your stupid kids are doing when we have mental linguistical puzzles to say over and over in our heads? Sheep shit on a ship at an angle from the uncle's ankle drinking a beer wearing a beard next to a bare bear and a bird. Huh did you say something? Shut up and let me think! Of course if you're British you can say Shite but then it doesn't quite sound the same. Sheep ship shite sheet. Well maybe it does. HAHA. .
